Day 2 - First Full Day

Sunrise
Mornings at the beach are always great.  Wake up, stroll out onto the balcony and watch the sun rise, listen to the waves, and relax.  Got our umbrella for the week.  This year's lifegaurd's name is Samatha and she reminded me of the name of our lifeguard from last time, Parker.   The lifeguard are always good to get to know.  Jordan and I headed out to the gym and she got a chance to try out the treadmill where she said she was the only person running while all others where walking.  Jen took her first beach run and she said she ran into a trailer maze.  Once we all got 'sunscreened', we headed out to our spots.  The waves did not disappoint.  It was non-stop action all morning and all day.

It is neat to see how great the kids are in the water.  I can remember the days when it would only be Jordan and I crashing the waves.  Or how I would pull Jill or Jake on the boogie boards.  Now they are like experts!!  So we rode waves all day.  We did try to build our first sand castle but didn't finish.  More on that later.  Jake also found a way to capture the little crab shells that burrow into the sand.  He and Jill collected a whole bucket of them.

During early afternoon Papa and Grandma arrived and were ready to also get into the swing of things at the beach.  The girls went and hung out by the pool where they enjoyed the water and very warm weather.  By the way, the beach temp was 84 today!!!

Jake got a little "beach rash" so Jen took him to find some bike shorts to help stop the rubbing of the swim trunks.  While I was clearing the stuff off the beach I sat for a few moments just watching the waves and people pass by.  The evening was approaching and we all needed to get ready.   After getting dressed, we drove to one of our favorite spots at Broadway at the Beach to dine at Margarittaville.  As we sat outside we the kids got some balloon toys made....Jill got an angel wings/halo and Jake a pirate sword. After dinner, Jill and Jake got to do the giant bouncey swing where they displayed some acrobatics.  They then went on the teacups where they spun so fast so many times, it made us all dizzy!!  At that point, we split.  Jake, myself, and Joe hit the mini-links for our first game of putt putt on the Dragon's Lair course.  Jake holed in one!!!  The  girls walked past the winery and the candy store.  Quite the combination.  Grandma got her preylines!!!   It was a long day of travel and the beach.  The bed was calling us all!!

  1. Sounds like a very fun evening. I am very jealous, as I spent the evening avoiding a torrential downpour.
